Since that data China will no longer accept film materials from the household waste stream, including black sack material, carrier bags and netting for recycling.

The ban does not include plastics from the commercial and industrial waste stream.

A spokesman for CCIC, which is accredited by the State General Administration of the People's Republic of China for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), told letsrecycle.com that “any used bags and films from the household” cannot now be exported to China.

The move is expected to boost the supply of material to UK reprocessors and elsewhere overseas. And, the Environment Agency is expected to take note of the new rules and continue its tough inspection policy on overseas exports of recyclables, seeking to provide any abuse of transfrontier shipment legislation.
