CCR appoints first recycling member to launch nationwide waste service

Logistics-related waste management specialist CCR UK Ltd of Leamington Spa has completed its first business partnership agreement, setting in motion the establishment of an operational CCR network across the UK.

LAS Waste Ltd, based in Lampeter, is the first UK company to be appointed as an official CCR Center, joining forces with the international CCR network which the company describes as “the acknowledged leader in the European waste and recycling market”.

Larry Boulton, managing director of CCR UK Ltd, explained the background to the partnership agreement. “The facilities and expertise of the LAS Waste operation makes the company a perfect fit for the network of CCR Centers currently being established in the UK. We are currently in negotiation with companies across the country who are interested in forging relationships with CCR, and expect to complete a number of additional partnership agreements before the end of the year.”

Established in 1963, LAS Waste Ltd operates through two divisions, waste disposal and agricultural services and is an accredited reprocessor.

In addition, the company owns and operates the Lampeter Civic Amenity Site, recycling a wide range of materials, and the Lampeter transfer station, used daily by Ceredigion County Council and Camarthenshire County Council together with local trade waste collection companies.
LAS Waste also manufactures dust free paper animal bedding using paper recycled from locally sited paper banks, and fuel briquettes manufactured at the Lampeter facility.

Chris Saunders, managing director of LAS Waste Ltd, outlined his company’s interest in the CCR concept. “This was exactly the route LAS wished to take as a company, having identified the future potential for waste reprocessing and recycling in line with developing legislation and the growing number of companies requiring facilities and expertise in this area.”
