Capri Sun have said “the innovation and launch in the UK marks a significant step towards Capri Sun’s ambition to transition its entire drinks range to fully recyclable packaging.”

It aims to roll out the pouch across Europe over the few next years which Capri Sun said will “help remove and save many tonnes of aluminium per year” from going into landfill.

The launch of the recyclable pouch is part of Capri Sun’s ongoing sustainability plan, guided by its vision to become “the most natural and sustainable kids drink in the world”.

In recent years, this vision has seen the brand transition from plastic to paper straws, going beyond its existing use of FSC-certified cardboard packaging for its multipacks, and the introduction of 100% rPET (recycled PET) across its bottled squash range, as well as a commitment to become carbon neutral in its manufacturing operations.

The 200ml single serve pouches will first be rolled out in two of its flavours: Orange and Blackcurrant & Apple.
