Bertling Enviro reports growth with RDF deal

Shipping and logistics company, Bertling Enviro, expects to export around 200,000 tonnes of refuse derived fuel (RDF) this year after signing a number of export contracts.

The Swedish firm – part of the German global logistics company, F.H. Bertling – reports to have in place a number of supply contracts in the European market place.

Sysav

And, Bertling Enviro has recently signed a major supply contract with Sysav, South Scania Waste Company, based in Sweden.

The contract, which started on 1 January, is a three-year RDF supply agreement of 100,000 tonnes.

As part of the agreement, Bertling Enviro said it will supply RDF from the UK and offer a complete door to door solution where the fuel is shipped in 40 sea containers.

Sysav operates a waste to energy plant in Malmö, Sweden, where the four boilers can take up to 75 tonnes of waste per hour. The Sysav plant is licensed to incinerate 630.000 tonnes of waste per year and also holds an advanced cleaning system for flue gas and ashes.

Bertling Enviro said advanced quality processes and its own IT-systems, including a client portal, are important tools for control and for keeping a high quality through the whole supply chain.

Expertise

F.H.Bertling is a global company with more than 60 offices, operating in 30 countries. The Group employs over 850 people, providing expertise in ship brokerage, freight forwarding and naval architecture, supported by its in-house IT company (Besitec), legal and accountancy departments.

Bertling Enviro said its biggest business is currently RDF and SRF, but the company is keen to explore new markets and new product groups within the waste, energy and resource management sector.
