The Association said it believed it was the first conference in Britain to focus wholly on local authority waste strategy. The conference is being organised in a bid to help councils keep apace with the rapidly changing nature of waste management.
The conference “Joint Waste Management Strategies – What Have We Learnt So Far?” will give local authority waste managers a chance to learn from each other and to see what solutions are being proposed to solve Britain’s waste crisis. And it will also look at joint strategies and joint working which Nawdo believes will have a significant role to play in delivering future waste management.

The conference for all waste and recycling managers and will look at finding local solutions, but as all councils are facing similar challenges in meeting 2003/4 recycling targets it will also enable best practice to be exchanged.
