A series of meetings begins tomorrow that will allow local authorities and key stakeholders to look at both the specification and potential barriers to implementation of a national network of waste management information.
The first meeting is in Cardiff, with dates organised around the country throughout the rest of June and July.
Babtie was handed the contract to organise the 'Da;taFlow' project by the Institute of Wastes Management Environmental Body, and funding has been made available by Biffaward under the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme.
Future workshops will take place in Belfast, Croydon, Perth, Reading and Glasgow this month, and in July there will be meetings in Northampton, Newcastle, Cambridge, Colwyn Bay, Birmingham, Beverley, Preston and Exeter.
The aim of the DataFlow project is to change to current system of annually-collected waste management information to an online reporting service with more accurate data collected more regularly and efficiently.
