Aylesford Newsprint recruits area managers from local authorities

Aylesford Newsprint has recruited two new area managers from the local authority sector.

Karen Newell joints the company from Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, where she has been waste strategy manager for the past eight years. Ms Newell has more than 19 years experience in local government and will be responsible for an area west of the M40 including all of Wales.

Kelly King, whose territory covers those counties north of the M40 corridor, was formerly environmental projects officer with Oxford City Council.

“Given the time they will spend working with local authority suppliers – dealing with contractual issues, providing PR and promotional support to boost tonnage, maintaining quality and so on – it makes good commercial sense, as well as reinforcing our commitment, to recruit from local government,” said Aylesford Newsprint commercial manager, Chris White.
