This year's event will be held on May 5 with entries being invited shortly for a range of categories.
The decision to hold the awards earlier in the year comes following sentiments that the October period had become too cluttered with a host of different awards in the recycling and waste management industry.
Steve Dickinson, managing director of letsrecycle.com said: “We are delighted to announce the new date for 2010 with full support from our valued sponsors. As market leader we listen and react to our marketplace. The new date keeps our flagship event first in the annual calendar and gives us total differentiation from the congestion of the other autumn awards.”
Achievements
Lynne Cullis, chief operating officer of The Wastepack Group said; 'We support the Awards for Excellence because they recognise real achievements in our sector in a highly effective way. The awards event itself brings together a true cross-section of the people who work in all areas and at all levels in our industry alongside the clients who use our services.'
Judging panel member Jeff Cooper, vice president of the International Solid Waste Association commented; ‘It is encouraging to see letsrecycle.com's awards will now take place in May. The spring date will give them a fresh look and it does help as there are a lot of events on in the autumn. I'm sure all the judges will be looking forward to assessing another round of entries from across the UK.”
Now in their seventh year the awards are renowned for showcasing innovation, dedication and success in recycling and sustainable waste management.
The Awards for Excellence will once again take place at the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone, London. The nine categories will continue to honour the very best in the sector.
