Mark Jenkins promoted as Taylor UK sales manager

The move, part of a restructuring of Taylors sales team in 2014, sees Mr Jenkins become responsible for all UK sales territories for both Taylor and Sellers in England, Scotland and Wales.

Mr Jenkins who is also a noted powerlifter on the international stage has also been tasked with developing the new Sellers product range, as well as continuing growth for Taylor in the steel bin and street furtniture market place.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Jenkins said: Its becoming less and less common for people to stay at one company for more than five years. However as someone who started sweeping the factory floor and then trained to be a welder, I can honestly say Im proud to have worked my way up through Taylor.

Marketing director Julian Gaylor added: Mark really is a larger than life character, and is a huge asset to the team. 2014 looks set to be an interesting year for the waste industry and for the organisations and suppliers that feed into it. Now that Marks in place were confident that this year will deliver the next phase of growth for Taylor.

WYG appoints Jeff Evans as associate

Recycling consultancy WYG has appointed Jeff Evans as an associate, in order to spearhead its business development in the North of England.

Mr Evans brings experience to the Leeds-based role from working in the public and private sector, including his previous role as Waste Partnership manager for the York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership.

He also served as an associate director at Waterman plc, leading the carbon, energy and waste management team in Leeds.

Welcoming his appointment, Mr Evans said: I am excited to take up this opportunity to work at WYG having worked with the consultancy as a customer in my previous role. It was the quality of the people that made the difference in wanting to join the team at WYG.

Russell Lane, associate, added: Jeff joins WYG at an exciting time and will be leading the further development of our existing business with waste authorities in the North of England.

Paul Mayhew appointed global sourcing manager

Paul Mayhew is to lead a team initiating sales growth prospects at plastics recycler MBA Polymer.

Mr Mayhew, who joined the firm in 2013 from 2k Manufacturing, is an experienced manager with a degree in Business Management from Sheffield University and brings a broad base of skills gained from his previous post.

As global sourcing manager, Mr Mayhew improve focus on sourcing opportunities and by-product value creation.

WRD welcomes Roland Bell as operations director

Commercial & industrial waste processor WRD Group has welcomed Roland Bell as its new operations director.

Mr Bell, who joins the Rotherham-based company from Yorwaste, has spent 28 years in the waste and recycling industry, having worked for both Biffa and SITA UK.

His appointment to the senior management team at WRD Group will see him assist in delivering a number of exciting projects in 2014, as it looks to expand its operations.

Mr Bell said: Ive been very fortunate in my career in the industry to have managed across a very broad spectrum of sectors, including materials recycling facilities, collection operations, transfer stations, municipal operations, civic amenity sites, and composting facilities.

A key area of my background has been developing Sales & Account Development teams, as well as focussing on providing excellent Customer Service. I hope to be able to add another dimension to the excellent team of people already on board at WRD.
