Amie Stringer joins RDF exporter Andusia
Former European trading director for International Forest Products, Amie Stringer, has joined Andusia Recovered Fuels Limited as international sales manager.
Over her six years with International Forest Products, Ms Stringer was responsible for managing a recycled commodities trading portfolio including plastics, steel cans and paper. She was also accountable for the purchase and sale of recovered plastics from the UK and Europe to the USA, China, India, Malaysia and Vietnam.
In a statement, Andusia commented: “Amie joins us ahead of the busy Winter period and we look forward to Amie continuing to grow our international presence in the WTE market through long term plant relationships. “
In recent years, Andusia doubled its office space to accommodate an increase in staff numbers from 8 to 13 people, having also recently recruited Chris Collier as general manager (see letsrecycle.com story).

Recycling Technologies appoints non-executive director
Paul Hodges, adviser to major global chemical companies and the investment community, has joined the Recycling Technologies Board as a non-executive director.
The company is developing technology that seeks to turn mixed non-recyclable rigid plastic waste into a sulphur fuel replacement product.
Mr Hodges has worked in the chemical industry for 30 years, with 17 years as a senior executive with ICI, both in England and the USA. He is chairman of International eChem – an advisory body for the international chemical industry and is currently serving as a global expert with the World Economic Forum.
Recycling Technologies, welcomed Mr Hodges’ “invaluable experience of the petrochemical market, along with his knowledge of global markets” to further develop the business and the RT7000, a machine incorporating a chemical process for handling plastic waste.
Adrian Griffiths, chief executive at Recycling Technologies, said: “We are thrilled with this latest addition to the board. Paul has an enviable track record in the petrochemical industry and we are looking forward to the insight and contribution that he will undoubtedly make to the business as we forge ahead with our plans for 2017.”

New roles at Axion Polymers’ ELV recycling plant
Axion Polymers has made two new senior appointments at its shredder waste advanced processing plant (SWAPP) in Trafford Park.
Mike Bennett has been promoted to technical manager with wider responsibility for longer-term large-scale development projects at Axion.
The SWAPP facility produces recycled plastics, including Axpoly r-PP51 that goes back into new automotive components, materials for the construction industry and high calorific solid recovered fuel. The facility delivers the 2015 EU End of Life Vehicle (ELV) 95% recycling and recovery target.
Mr Bennett commented: “We’re focusing on both efficiency improvements and development of new completely new processing operations as part of our investment plans over the coming years.”
Peter Eastham has joined as SWAPP operations manager, looking after the day-to-day operations as well as the introduction of further efficiency and engineering improvements. He brings his experience from the recycling and coal processing industries to his new role.
