Waterson leaves Palm Recycling
Rick Waterson has left the post of commercial director at Palm Paper and is heading up a new consultancy service with Recycling UK.

Mr Waterson’s departure follows the decision to relocate senior management of Palm Recycling from the company’s offices at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire to offices adjacent to the Palm Paper mill in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
Gero Hempel, managing director of Palm Recycling, said Mr Waterson had left following an “amicable agreement” and he thanked him “for his hard work during his time with Palm Recycling”.
And, from September 1 Mr Waterson will be working with Cheshire-based Recycling UK which buys and sells waste paper within the UK and mainland Europe.
Mr Waterson said: “My time came to an end at Palm Recycling and I have moved on by mutual agreement. I wish them every success in the future.”
He added: “I am really looking forward to working with Neil Clarke and Simon Marsden at Recycling UK with the launch of ‘Materials Recycling and Consultancy Ltd’, a joint venture between myself and the company.

“I am also pleased to get back into the recycling side of things. While I have enjoyed being a mill buyer, the recycling business is always something I wanted to push forward.”
Mr Waterson had joined Palm Recycling in 2008 and had been responsible for the purchase of recovered paper to supply the King’s Lynn Palm Paper newsprint mill. As well as being involved with the purchase of used newspapers at Palm, Mr Waterson also dealt with other recyclables including plastics and metals.
