Appointments Round-Up (23/02/2026)

Appointments round-up, featuring ReZorce, European Metal Recycling, Veolia, Advetec and Too Good To Go.

Margaret Bates joins ReZorce board as Advisor

Margaret Bates, ReZorce

ReZorce has announced that Maragret Bates has been appointed as Advisor to the Board.

Bates recently completed a 22-month secondment with Defra as Head of the UK Extended Producer Responsibility for packaging (pEPR) scheme.

During her tenure, she worked closely with policymakers and industry stakeholders across the packaging supply chain to launch the scheme.

Prior to working at Defra, Bates served as Managing Director of On-Pack Recycling Label (OPRL) where she helped businesses deliver clear, consistent recycling messages on packaging.

Bates commented: “The appeal of ReZorce technology is clear: it’s a recyclable mono-material. The drive to mono-materials which are easy to recycle is clear in current and incoming EPR schemes globally.

“It is really exciting to work with ReZorce and be part of the change to a circular economy.

“ReZorce will have a positive, transformative effect on the beverage carton format, which has long been a challenge for the waste management sector in the UK and elsewhere.

“I am pleased to be able to support and advise the team on its rollout.”

Spencer commented: “My goal is to maintain these high standards while scaling up operations, increasing the quantity and variety of batteries we recycle, and exploring every opportunity to reuse and repurpose these critical materials.

“That’s how we build a truly circular battery economy.”

At EMR, Spencer will oversee daily operations while driving the division’s next phase – expanding capacity and deepening industry partnerships.

Helen Waters, EMR’s Director of ELV, added: “Andy’s experience across the automotive sector means he is perfectly placed to help EMR, and our partners, accelerate towards that goal – scaling our operations, expanding our partnerships and driving innovation that keeps valuable resources in the loop.”
