Angus Evers joins Shoosmiths
National law firm Shoosmiths has appointed a leading environmental partner, Angus Evers, to the planning team at its London office.
Mr Evers joins Shoosmiths from global law firm King & Wood Mallesons (formerly SJ Berwin) where he was head of the European environmental practice.
Mr Evers has over 17 years’ experience in environmental law with a strong focus primarily on real estate, corporate and energy. He advises on a variety of environmental issues including legislative changes, statutory appeals against notices served by environmental regulators and environmental judicial review.

Double appointment at Bollegraaf
Recycling technology provider Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions has welcomed two new members to lead the development of the company in the UK—Trevor Smart as country manager and Luc Mallinger as UK sales manager.
Mr Smart and Mr Mallinger both come with a background in the waste and recycling sector. Mr Smart has come from a well-established MRF supplier and Mr Mallinger from optical sorting specialist Pellenc.

Ecosurety announces new managing director
James Piper will take over the day-to-day operations of UK resource efficiency specialists, ecosurety, as managing director.
Mr Piper, who started at ecosurety as a graduate trainee, has generated just under 60% of the company’s turnover since he joined in 2009, ecosurety claims.
His new role will include developing the company’s strategic direction in conjunction with ecosurety’s board. He will also continue to support relationships with ecosurety’s largest brand members, which include The Co-operative, Mars and Britvic.
Mr Piper, who has worked across all compliance departments, including marketing, sales and IT, was named South West IoD Young Director of the Year in June.
He is currently working on plans to develop a scheme titled ‘Circularety’, due to be unveiled in September, which aims to increase transparency inside the PRN system.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Piper said: “It’s exciting to take a lead role in one of the most dynamic and forward-looking organisations in the waste and recycling industry.
“I’ve had fantastic support from an incredible team and I look forward to working with them to grow the business to the next stage.”
Staff numbers at ecosurety have increased recently by 28%, and include the appointment of 14 graduates.
