Julian Gaylor joins Storm as director

Julian Gaylor has been appointed director of wheeled container manufacturer, Storm Environmental.

Mr Gaylor is joining former colleagues and waste industry professionals Anton Taylor, Ian Powell and Archie Logan at the company.

His previous experience includes 17 years at the Egbert Taylor Group, where he rose from area sales manager for London in to becoming a director of the group.

Also responsible for setting up Envac UK, as managing director Mr Gaylor delivered one of Envac’s largest projects around Wembley Stadium.

Ian Powell said: “We are absolutely delighted to have secured someone of Julian’s experience and reputation, which is second to none.

“We are certain he will contribute massively to continue the growth that we have seen in Storm Environmental over the last few years.

With over 75 years’ experience in the waste management industry, Storm supplies wheeled containers “from Paladin containers in the 1950’s to the Storm EN 840 range of today.”

CASE appoints new heavy-line specialist

Global construction equipment manufacturer CASE has appointed industry expert Dean Ashton for its UK operations.

Dean Ashton has joined CASE as heavy-line specialist

Mr Ashton, a specialist of plant procurement with experience in the recycling and waste to energy sector, joined the company in June as heavy-line product specialist for the UK and Ireland.

With 36 years’ experience in all aspects of engineering and operations, working in recycling, waste to energy, pre-stressed concrete manufacturing and production facilities, Mr Ashton has been responsible for overseeing many large scale operations during his career.

Mr Ashton’s previous role was with Impetus Waste Management Group. His role with CASE will be to support the sales and development teams in the UK and Ireland, as well as working closely with the product specialist teams in Italy.

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Ashton said: “This is a very exciting time to be joining CASE, with new product ranges raising the bar on performance and reliability, and new state of the art manufacturing facilities.

“I am very much looking forward to this new challenge and the opportunity to work closely with the UK sales team and product specialists on future machine development.”

Scott Freeman, business director for CASE UK and Ireland, said: “We see Dean as a real asset to the management team. He is hugely respected within the industry and his experience of working ‘client side’ within plant procurement and his knowledge of what customers are looking for will be very beneficial to the business.”

ISS recruits finance & operations director

Keith Palmer is ISS’s new finance & operations director

Vehicle safety technology company, Innovative Safety Systems (ISS,) is growing its senior management team with the appointment of Keith Palmer as finance & operations director.

Gavin Thoday, director at ISS said: “Keith is a great addition to the team and his skills and experience will be hugely beneficial as we move forward with our plans for expansion and diversification over the next few years.”

A chartered accountant with an MBA, Mr Palmer has over 30 years commercial and business management experience in a number of sectors including manufacturing, distribution and telematics.

Mr Palmer said: “My forte lies in helping talented entrepreneurs grow their businesses. Gavin is such a person and it’s great to be part of this unique company.

“Initially my focus will be on developing the business infrastructure to further enhance the ISS customer service, which is a major strength of ISS. One of the great things about the company is that they retain their customers.

“There are a lot of orders in the pipeline and, by exploring different markets and developing new products, I will be using my experience to manage these projects to drive growth in the business.”

ISS designs, supplies and maintains vehicle safety and efficiency equipment, most of which is manufactured in the UK.

Clarity appoints operations coordinator for waste to fuel

Clarity Environmental has recruited an operations coordinator to oversee the company’s expanding waste to fuel division.

Fred Groves joins the Brighton-based company from a background in emergency corporate travel assistance and the medical equipment industry.

Mr Groves will work with the existing operations team to provide a first point of contact for hubs and transport companies. He will oversee the operation of logistics activity across all divisions, including domestic and international movements of RDF, SRF, wood, lead acid batteries, WEEE, plastics and glass.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Groves said: “I am delighted to join an ambitious team that is so customer-focussed, and I am enjoying getting to know our clients and understanding their needs.

“Clarity has some exciting plans for the continued growth of our waste to fuel services and I look forward to supporting that, as well as providing assistance to both our existing and new clients, and helping to keep their waste stream flowing throughout the year.”

Managing director, David Adams, said of the new appointment: “With our RDF and SRF network expanding, and our successful wood recycling service launched last year, we needed our operations team to support that growth.

“I am really pleased that Fred has decided to join us at such an exciting time for Clarity, and with his professional manner and track record in customer service, I am sure he will be an asset to our team and fundamental to our future plans.”
