Taylor appoints Brendan Murphy as chief executive
Bin manufacturer Taylor has announced the appointment of Brendan Murphy as the new chief executive of the company.

He replaces David Williams in the post, after Mr Williams stepped down after eight years with Taylor in June (see letsrecycle.com story).
Mr Murphy joins the Worcestershire-based firm following two years as group sales director for ventilation supplier Volution Group plc – where he oversaw the company’s expansion in the UK and Ireland.
Prior to his role at Volution, Mr Murphy spent more than 10 years with Dutch plastic pipe manufacturer Wavin, where he was responsible for the strategic commercial development for the UK and Ireland region.
As chief executive of Taylor, he will work closely with Richard Sanders – director of London environmental investors Sullivan Street Partners and Taylor’s executive chairman – and Julian Gaylor, who heads up the firm’s overseas division as international sales director.
Mr Murphy’s primary focus will be the continued international expansion of the company, as well as new product development.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Murphy said: “Taylor is a well-known brand with extensive coverage within the UK and a rapidly increasing international order book. There is undoubtedly a synergy between the waste and building materials industries and it’s these similarities that I’m looking to exploit as the company moves forward and builds on its impressive fifty year history.
“Having been responsible for overseas growth it’s clear that Taylor is still in its embryonic phase, which makes it an exceptionally exciting period for the company and a great time to join the business.”
Mr Sanders added: “We’re delighted to welcome Brendan to the business, pleased that Taylor’s senior team is now complete and excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Countrystyle Recycling has announced five appointments to its senior and middle management team, in line with expanding its operations in the South East of England.

The Kent-based firm has appointed former commercial director Chris Howard as managing director, Sean Turk as sales director, and Kevin Hanson as general manager of the Ridham in-vessel composting facility.
Countrystyle has also hired Stuart Markham as environment and planning manager – who joins the team from FCC – and Alex Bardsley, previously from Richmond council, as the company’s local authorities account manager.
The firm has also announced an expansion to its sales and support teams with new members coming on board to provide services for its client base.
Mr Howard, who joined the company in 2009, said: “Our objective is simple – to provide tailored resource management services that exceed customer expectation, drive innovation and set the market standard for sustainable quality end products.
“With our management team strengthened, we are confident that we can meet this aim and provide customers with reliable and responsive recycling and recovery services in a professional manner.”
In October, Countrystyle was listed in the top 50 fastest growing businesses in Kent in 2014 in KM Media’s ‘MegaGrowth 50’ report – which ranks businesses based on turnover, exports and staff numbers.

Casepak has also welcomed the appointment of Stephanie Dalton, who joins the company as business development executive.
Ms Dalton will work for both Casepak and its partner firm, Oceala, supporting the business development team.
Mark Smith, joint managing director of Casepak, said: “Tony and Stephanie are valuable additions to our team. Both will bring key skills and experience to their respective roles and teams they work in with a view to enhancing Casepak’s offering. I am looking forward to working with them for many years to come.”
