Oldham-based skip manufacturers,  Sellers Containers, has been placed into administration.

A notice today (16 August) in the UK’s official record publication, the Gazette, stated that the company, which manufactures a range of skip and other storage products, was placed into administration with the advisory firm Duff & Phelps.

Today’s Gazette notice comes less than two years since the company was acquired from Egbert Taylor by Dubai-based Visionscape in December 2017.

Visionscape heralded the Sellers deal at the time as part of its “strategic focus on broadening its product and service offerings as it ventures into emerging markets”.

Egbert Taylor

Egbert Taylor initially acquired Sellers Containers in 2013 in a bid to expand its portfolio in a “multi-million pound deal”.

With Sellers having been bought and sold twice in recent years, there is an expectation in the sector that another sale could occur.

It is also understood by letsrecycle.com that there is some concern among waste management businesses regarding potentially uncompleted orders because of the company’s position.
