With the reform of packaging recycling, local authorities, recyclers, brand owners and compliance schemes are embarking on a new journey. The challenge is to deliver and work within a packaging waste system which will see mixed with the huge new requirement of fully funding local authority recycling collections delivered in a ‘consistent’ approach. Alongside these aims will be the introduction of a deposit return (DRS) system which will impact on both brand owners and local authorities.
