Launch on Tuesday for London waste strategy

Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London is to launch a Municipal Waste Management Strategy for the capital on July 24.

A spokesman for the Mayor said that the “issue is of crucial importance to the capital as if waste continues to grow at its current rate, London will have twice as much to deal with by 2020 than it does now.”

The strategy is described as setting out a “progressive plan for dealing with this ever-increasing tide of rubbish.”
