Otto Lifts UK has previously only been able to supply back-of-vehicle lifts for waste collection vehicles. But Hufferman are able to offer a much broader range which will now become available to the UK market.

The German company supplies side of vehicle lifts, front loading lifts and cranes which can be used by one operator without getting out of the vehicle.

Complete package

A spokesman for Otto said: “Otto will now be able to offer a complete package to its customers. The company will be able to go back to local authorities and waste management companies that didn't want back of vehicle lifts and say now we are able to offer you systems to suite all your needs.”

Otto also hopes to be able to make the package even more complete by supplying the bins, as well as the lifts, through Otto Environmental.

Mark Olpin, regional director Northern Europe for Otto Environmental systems, said: “This is a significant development for the UK. The addition of the Hufferman product range, together with the established lift and container supply companies, provides the Otto group with an unrivalled range of waste collection and transportation products and services.

“It is our aim to become the number one provider of collection systems and products to the UK waste industry. We will bring innovative, cost-effective collection and transportation solutions that will ensure the UK waste industry achieves its key goals in waste management.”
