John Burns, director of WIP, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Melville is joining us. He does so at a time when his experience and knowledge of the renewable energy and waste sectors will complement our existing skills and help us to accelerate the development of this fast changing market.”

Mr Haggard said his secondment would be a “tremendous opportunity” to contribute to the needs of the sector. He said: “The challenge is to help the construction, equipment supply and waste management practitioners, supported by a variety of financing routes, to configure products that enable local authorities to implement their waste strategies in a timely and cost effective manner.”
