Biofabrik is a German specialist in developing technologies for sustainable management of waste problems. Their solution to creating a successful plastic waste-2-oil operation is the WASTX Plastic P range of plant. The compact, container-sized, fully-automated P-1000 unit converts up to 1000kg of plastic waste into 1000 litres of oil or usable raw materials cost-effectively in a continuous process. The range is scalable with the P-2000, P-3000, P-4000 and P-5000 converting up to 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 kg of plastic waste into 2, 3, 4, and 5000 litres of oil per day respectively. Plastic waste is first shredded with the material being drawn into a processor that by pyrolysis shortens the long hydrocarbon chains creating an oil vapour which flows into cooling chambers. The oil is collected and transported to plastic cracking factories where it is turned into new and recyclable plastic.
QMRE has additionally developed the system to meet all UK regulatory requirements and to significantly further reduce carbon emissions. We have installed a development and demonstration P-250 system at our Kent site at which potential customers can see for themselves how the waste-2-oil process operates.
