Smooth takeover for Norwich metals recycling firm

Metal recycler EASCO has reported a smooth takeover of Norwich-based metals business Peruzzi's Metals.

The company said it was business as usual for the newly-acquired site, which increased EASCO's network to 13 sites in July, for an undisclosed sum.

” Since we have taken over the company it has hit the ground running. “
– Philip Wright, EASCO

Philip Wright, commercial director at EASCO, told letsrecycle.com that operations at the site had been unaffected by the acquisition.

“Peruzzi's is a long established company,” he said, “and if it isn't broken there is no need to fix it. Since we have taken over the company it has hit the ground running.”

Presence
Mr Wright explained that the acquisition allowed EASCO to increase its presence both locally – since head office is in Norwich – and nationally. The company now operates in the North of England, the Midlands and East Anglia as well as Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Essex.

The company mainly deals with non-ferrous metals, but has end-of-life vehicle depolluting facilities at its 13 sites across the UK and also offers consultancy services.

EASCO now has metal recycling and end of life depolluting facilities in 13 locations across the UK. It said it has more than doubled its turnover in the last three years, with more than 50% of its processed product exported.

Strategy
The Peruzzi acquisition followed last year's acquisition of Colchester firm SB Wheeler & Sons, and comes as part of an “aggressive” multi-million pound investment strategy.

Andre Serruys, group managing director, said: “As a company, we are committed to maintaining our position as one of the UK's leading recycling companies. These latest acquisitions form part of an ongoing, aggressive multi million pound investment strategy that consolidate further our market position and underline our commitment to improving the UK's recycling record.”
