ESS Expo 2025 registration opens

The Environmental Services & Solutions Expo (ESS Expo), one of the UK’s largest annual events for environmental innovation, collaboration, and policy, has announced that visitor registration is now open for its 2025 edition. The event will take place from 17–18 September at the NEC Birmingham.

ESS Expo is expected to bring together more than 15,000 professionals working across the environmental and sustainability sectors. The event combines a wide-ranging programme of live content, supplier exhibitions, policy-led sessions, and networking opportunities. The 2025 edition will continue to provide a platform for knowledge-sharing and cross-sector dialogue on key environmental issues.

A Cross-Sector Environmental Platform

ESS Expo incorporates seven co-located events, designed to enable attendees to explore developments, policy trends, and technical solutions across multiple environmental disciplines:

  • RWM Expo – Resource & Waste Management
  • EFD Expo – Energy, Fuels & Decarbonisation
  • CLR Expo – Contamination & Land Remediation Expo
  • WWEM Expo – Water, Wastewater & Environmental Management Expo
  • AQE Expo – Air Quality & Emissions Expo
  • GEO Expo – Geotechnical Engineering & Operations Expo
  • CARS & MRE – Complete Auto Recycling & Metals Recycling Events

Subject areas range from air quality and carbon capture to waste processing, remediation, and recycling. The event aims to support sector-wide engagement and information exchange on sustainability challenges and initiatives.

Exhibitors, Industry Insight, and Policy Dialogue

ESS Expo 2025 is expected to host more than 700 exhibitors. Notable participants include:

  • CARS & MRE: Tomra, Crow Environmental, RENNER Kompressoren, Automet, and 7 Steel UK
  • GEO & CLR: Adler and Allan Ltd, JJMac Ltd, Igne, Envirochem, and European Geophysical Services
  • WWEM: Aquamatic, Haldo, and CIRIA/Susdrain
  • AQE: Acoem, Gasmet Technologies, and ENVEA
  • EFD: Enfinium, Future Biogas, and Valmet
  • RWM: Finning CAT, Grundon, RECOUP, Renault Trucks, Pellenc ST, and Valpak

Institutional support includes contributions from CIWM, ESA, and the Environment Agency, which returns in 2025 as the event’s Lead Partner.

The two-day conference programme will feature speakers from across UK and European government, regulatory bodies, and industry. Discussions are set to focus on several key policy areas, including:

  • The UK’s pathway to Net Zero
  • Circular economy practices
  • Air quality and emissions frameworks
  • Remediation strategies for land and water
  • Environmental funding and compliance
