These provide examples of best practice to groups that are thinking of starting up composting services.
In the project’s first year, there were 122 site visits and 397 people attended training events.
The project is funded through the landfill tax credit by the Hanson Environment Fund and by the Shell Better Britain Campaign.
Network coordinator Nick McAllister said: “This is a very timely project because European landfill targets require that we compost more organic waste.”
The new sites are in: Barnsley, Falmouth, Glasgow, Kinlochleven, Machynlleth, Sowerby Bridge, Swansea and Wye.
