Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions has announced that it has added a new Two-Ram baler to its waste baling equipment portfolio.

The Dutch industrial equipment supplier said that it has designed the baler to be “perfect” for larger, bulky materials.

It added that it produces high-density and homogeneous bales, while keeping baling time and energy usage to a minimum.

Hessel van der Werff, director of business unit balers at Bollegraaf, said: “The introduction of the Two-Ram baler gives us new possibilities to help the recycling industry with their baling challenges.

“The Two-Ram baler is an adaptive machine, specially designed to fit the varying materials. This means that the installation autonomously adjusts the pressure level and other parameters.

“Thanks to machine learning, the system is able to improve itself and thus achieve the optimal bale weight.”

The baling technology has been launched after three years of research and development.

The Two-Ram balers were designed, developed, manufactured and tested in Bollegraaf’s own manufacturing facility in the Netherlands.

They have been designed for baling materials such as plastics, oversized Old Corrugated Cardboard (OCC) and non-ferrous materials like aluminium cans.

As a standard, the Two-Ram balers come with a dual pre-press technology, a stand-alone wire tie unit and fully-bolted Hardox plates.

However, they are customisable according to the needs of the specific customer.

Van der Werff added: “Recently we installed a brand-new Two-Ram baler at Kras Recycling in the Netherlands.

“The client is very positive and said that – thanks to the Two-Ram baler – they can process more tonnes per hour.

“They also said that their experience is that the costs per tonne are now considerably lower and that the bales are of higher density.”
