ReLondon appoints acting chief executive as Wayne Hubbard steps down

ReLondon has announced that Wayne Hubbard is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer after 15 years leading the organisation.
Hubbard will leave the role at the end of May, with ReLondon’s director of operations and governance, Jo Rogers, appointed as acting chief executive while the search for a permanent successor begins next month.
ReLondon said the leadership change comes during a period of transition for the organisation, with work underway on a refocused strategy and the recruitment of new board members.
During his tenure, Hubbard played a key role in shaping London’s waste and circular economy policy, including the introduction of circular economy statements, now required under the Mayor of London’s planning guidance for major developments.
Hubbard commented: “The time is right for a new CEO to lead ReLondon’s talented team through the next phase of their journey, working with a fresh group of board members and delivering a new strategy.
“I leave a hugely capable senior team to oversee this transition, led by Jo Rogers who will take on the Acting CEO role.”
Veolia analyst joins Defra on secondment as batteries specialist

Joseph Main has started a 12-month secondment Defra as a Batteries Specialist within the Circular Economy Directorate.
Main currently works as a Policy and Stakeholder Analyst at Veolia UK and will support work focused on improving safety, circularity and resilience across the waste system.
Announcing the appointment on LinkedIn, Main described the role as “a fantastic opportunity” to broaden his experience and contribute to the development of approaches across the sector.
He said: “I’m really pleased to share that I’ve started a 12-month secondment with the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs as a Batteries Specialist within the Circular Economy Directorate.
“A huge thank you to my wonderful colleagues (esp. Gavin Anderson and Joseph Powell) for all their support and encouragement.
“And an equally big thank you to my new team at Defra for such a warm and welcoming start – it’s made the transition feel incredibly smooth.”
Colin Clarke takes over The Recycling Association presidency

Winfibre Managing Director Colin Clarke has become the new President of The Recycling Association.
Clarke succeeds Celine Grant of Re-Gen, who completed her two-year term as President during The Recycling Association’s AGM and President’s Day on 12 May 2026.
Having served as Vice President for the past two years, Clarke automatically stepped into the role at the event.
During the AGM, Jonathan Donohue, Suez, was elected as the Association’s new Vice President and is set to become President in two years’ time.
Clarke said: “It is an honour for me to become the President of The Recycling Association and I’m looking forward to taking on the role.
“Of course, I want to thank Celine Grant for the fantastic job she has done over the past two years, and Paul

CMB RVM Solutions appoints new general manager

Zak Miller has been appointed general manager of CMB RVM Solutions, where he will lead and grow the company’s reverse vending machine division.
Reporting to Andrew Truelove, senior vice president of CMbE Canmaking Solutions, Miller will provide strategic and commercial direction as the business scales, focusing on sales growth, partnership development and customer support.
Miller brings experience leading major reverse vending machine programmes with leading retailers and wholesalers, including the delivery of multi-million-pound equipment sales and long-term service and maintenance contracts.
Miller commented: “I’m delighted to be joining at such a pivotal time. With DRS set to transform recycling, there is a clear opportunity to support retailers and partners with practical, scalable solutions.”
Former Reconomy CEO joins Advetec as non-executive director

Advetec has appointed Paul Cox as Non-Executive Director as the business looks to strengthen its leadership team.
Cox brings decades of experience to the role, having served as group Chief Executive Officer of Reconomy Group for 23 years, where he remains Founder Director.
In his new position, Cox will support Advetec’s commercial growth and help expand partnerships with waste producers and processors as demand for sustainable waste treatment technologies increases.
Commenting on the appointment, Cox said: “Advetec is tackling one of the waste sector’s most pressing challenges with a genuinely innovative and scalable solution.
“The combination of strong technical capability, commercial potential and clear environmental impact makes this an exciting business at a critical point in its journey.”
