Who are we?

WRAP is a global environmental action NGO transforming food, packaging, textiles and resource use systems in pursuit of circular living.

WRAP are the people who do. We convene. We evidence. We solve. We deliver.

For over 25 years, WRAP has innovated to meet the problems of the day.

We prevent waste and pollution to save money, improve living standards and protect natural habitats. We reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water stress to strengthen resilience and help meet environmental goals. We improve resource use to increase productivity and growth.

Across the world, we bring more than 1,000 businesses together with governments and civil society to tackle environmental challenges that require the collective action of many.

Join us at WRAP and you’ll drive important change to embed circular living in every boardroom and in every home.

The role

As our Recycling and Collections Advisor in England, you will work as part of our Local Authority Team, supporting councils across England in the successful implementation of policy reforms and contributing to the delivery of 65% recycling by 2035.

You will be delivering technical and communications support to individual local authorities, as well as contributing to the development and delivery of a broader range of good practice guidance, communication campaigns, webinars, workshops and training.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Good knowledge of the range of collection, recycling and sorting systems in operation in the UK, along with awareness of the relevant policy and legislative context.
  • A good grasp of local authority structures and decision-making processes as a result of either working for or with at least one UK council, and an appreciation of the challenges facing local government.
  • Experience in managing discrete projects, with sound project management skills and an ability to balance a complex mix of priorities.
  • A confident presenter and communicator, capable of writing clear technical

reports and delivering presentations to a non-technical audience.

  • A willingness to travel to meetings and events throughout England.
