Smart Solutions has become a member of the Sustainable Ports Association (SPA), extending its services into UK ports and railheads.

Through the membership, Smart Solutions aims to strengthen collaboration with port authorities, terminal operators, rail freight providers and wider supply chain partners.

The company explained that it sees significant opportunity to complement existing port operations with flexible workforce solutions tailored to the demands of container movements, bulk materials, cargo handling and plant and equipment activity.

Daniel Rainbow, UK Business Development Manager at Smart Solutions, commented: “We’re pleased to join the Sustainable Ports Association and bring our experience in material handling and workforce delivery into the port sector.

“For almost two decades, we’ve supported waste, recycling and environmental operations, where safe, flexible and high-performing teams are essential in demanding environments.

“We look forward to contributing to the Association’s mission of advancing sustainable and innovative port operations.”

Smart Solutions’ operational services include industry insight, labour and recruitment services, PPE provider, mobile plant operation, haulage and O&M solutions.

Sustainable Ports Association

The SPA brings together organisations from across the port, freight and logistics sectors to drive improvements in environmental performance, operational resilience and social value.

Its work focuses on practical approaches that enable ports and terminals to transition toward lower-impact infrastructure and working practices.

Aaron Driver, Business Director at the Sustainable Ports Association, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Smart Solutions as members.

“Their people-first approach and commitment to social value aligns closely with the priorities of our members, and we look forward to working together to support more resilient and responsible port operations.”
