The Awards continue to be recognised as the most prestigious celebration of achievement, innovation and leadership across the UK resource and waste industry.
This year’s ceremony will take place on 13 May 2026 at the iconic JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London, where finalists and industry leaders will gather for a landmark event hosted by acclaimed comedian Jimmy Carr.
A flagship celebration for the sector
Renowned for shining a spotlight on outstanding initiatives and ground‑breaking developments, the Awards for Excellence offer organisations, local authorities and individuals an opportunity to showcase their contribution to a more circular, sustainable future.
The 2025 event saw over 750 attendees gather in central London to applaud achievements across materials recycling, organics, design, innovation and community initiatives. The 2026 ceremony is forecast to be even bigger, bringing together senior decision-makers from across the UK’s recycling, resources and waste landscape.
Entries remain completely free, with applicants required to submit a 500‑word entry, brief summary and supporting materials.
Host: Jimmy Carr to lead the celebrations
For 2026, the Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Carr, one of the UK’s most recognisable comedians and television personalities. Known for his sharp wit and unmistakable delivery, Carr is set to bring energy, humour and polish to this year’s ceremony at Grosvenor House.

Those looking to put forward a submission are encouraged to:
- Plan – Select the category and gather data, evidence and supporting materials.
- Write – Provide a 50‑word overview and 500‑word detailed entry outlining the strategy, approach, challenges and environmental impact.
- Submit – Enter online before the 13 February 2026 deadline.
