Valpak supply manager joins WRAP to develop wood recycling

The new appointments strengthen the developing policy team underpinning the seven main programmes outlined in the WRAP business plan.

The appointments see three materials sector specialists including Tom Fourcade, 31, who takes on the post of materials sector manager (wood). Mr Fourcade is currently supply manager for Valpak Ltd, a role which involves facilitating new materials supply from commercial, industrial and domestic sources. Other appointments include:

• Dr Bevis Watts, 26, is business advice service manager, who previously managed the CWMRE market development initiative for The Wales Environment Trust and has carried out research into waste issues
• Anne Riding, 33, takes on the post of special Projects Manager, and joins WRAP from Enviros Consulting Ltd where she is a Senior Consultant, currently co-ordinating the Recycling Market Development programme in South West England. Ms Riding worked for UK Waste and ran the Recycle UK compliance scheme before it was bought by Biffa.
• Dr Paul Davidson, 34, becomes the materials sector manager (plastics). Currently he is European technical product manager for Crompton Europe Ltd, a role with a strong focus on packaging, automotive and polymer alloys.
• Andy Dawe, 44, materials sector manager (glass), formerly product manager for Eutectic Company Ltd where he held responsibility for business development in the glass industry.

Welcoming the latest additions to WRAP, Ray Georgeson, director of policy, said: “ I know that new members of the team are looking forward to tackling the challenges of increasing recycling. They are all first class additions to the team and I am delighted to welcome them all.”

Mr Georgeson has also announced the next phase of recruitment in which WRAP is seeking to fill a number of roles including Deputy Director of Policy, Environment Manager, Materials Sector Manager (Paper) and Public Affairs Officer.

WRAP, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, is supported by contributions from DEFRA (Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs); DTI; the Scottish Executive and the National Assembly for Wales, totalling 40million over three years.
