Aiming to tackle the large proportion of business waste clogging up the region's landfill sites, Remade East will provide businesses with local advice and support on how to reduce and recycle their waste.

A free database of the regional waste and recycling sector will be available, together with a waste producer helpline, a small business development grant scheme and skills development activities.
The organisation is also working with a regional materials exchange organisation – East-Ex – to seek homes for materials with a re-use value that would otherwise go to landfill.
The launch of Remade East will take place next Wednesday (26th) at the Moller Centre in Cambridge.
UK CEED
The initiative is being launched by Remade Essex, a project set up six years ago to create new markets for recycled materials in Essex. Remade East is also being backed by the UK Centre for Economic and Environmental Development (UK CEED).
Simon Chiva, head of the resource efficiency unit at UK CEED said: “Our launch event will inform businesses about the new services we are developing.
“We understand that the waste and recycling industry is a hard industry to operate in, despite all the new opportunities being created by legislation and the changing demands of businesses.
