Wokingham celebrates 5,000 tonnes of recycled newspapers and magazines

Aylesford Newsprint has marked the collection of 5,000 tonnes of used newspapers and magazines from Wokingham District Council with the presentation of a special certificate to Councillor Dee Tomlin, chairman of the council.

The 5,000 tonnage has been collected over the past eight years through 22 banks on 14 sites along with a more recent kerbside scheme for 34,000 households.

Aylesford has a long term contract with the council for the paper on a fluctuating price basis.

Mixed paper from the kerbside scheme goes to the St Regis Mill via Severnside Recycling.
