The company has been one of the UK’s significant exporters of RDF but recently the business has lost a contract to supply refuse derived fuel to Netherlands-based AEB.
Now, documents available on the Companies House website indicate that the business is involved in a voluntary arrangement via accountancy firm Baker Tilly Moone Moore of Belfast. Kelly Magee of the firm said that she could not comment on the situation and directed all enquiries to Greenway.
On 6 January, Greenway Waste Recycling posted documents concerning ‘Voluntary arrangement supervisor’s abstract of receipts and payments’.
Greenway Waste Recycling is part of the Greenway Group which also includes Greenway Polymers and Greenway Ireland.
When the Greenway Group was contacted at the company’s office in Armagh, Northern Ireland, no one was available to provide information on the current situation at Telford.
At Telford the gates of the site have been locked and notices placed on them.
Greenway Waste Recycling Ltd, was was incorporated in 2010 as a subsidiary of Greenway Ireland Ltd, and opened its first and only British site in Ketley, Telford, in 2014.
AEB
Netherlands-based Amsterdam AEB has confirmed that it has cancelled a contract with Greenway Waste Recycling Ltd for the off-take of refuse-derived fuel (RDF).
When contacted by letsrecycle.com an AEB spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we cancelled the contract with Greenway. We cannot confirm the allocation for the RDF for another party. Nothing has been decided yet.”
In the first 11 months of 2016, Greenway Waste Recycling Ltd exported an estimated 79,000 tonnes of RDF – making it the tenth largest exporter of waste fuel among UK waste businesses over that time (see letsrecycle.com story).
