RWM: Catherine David, Marcus Gover, Professor David Greenfield join line up

WRAP’s new CEO Catherine David has been announced as one of the keynote speakers of this year’s RWM Expo, part of the Environmental Services and Solutions (ESS) Expo.

David will be delivering a keynote address called “Weaving Circular Living Across Your Operations for System Transformation”.

She will also be interviewed live on the letsrecycle.com stand (RS-F170) following her talk by Editor Savannah Coombe.

As the industry navigates challenges and complex regulatory landscapes, the RWM Expo convenes stakeholders in the resource, recycling and sustainability sector from 17 to 18 September 2025 at the NEC Birmingham.

The expo will feature over 350 experts sharing insights at dedicated sessions, see the full 2025 agenda here.

RWM has said that it hopes to serve as a pivotal platform for addressing critical issues, exchanging knowledge, and fostering innovation to shape the future of the resource industry.

Panel discussions

The agenda includes multiple panels focusing on the waste sector, including a session discussing the Circular Economy Taskforce which will include:

  • Professor David Greenfield, CIWM President & CEI Vice President
  • Jacob Hayler, Executive Director of the Environmental Services Association (ESA)
  • Stuart Hayward-Higham, Chief Technical Development and Innovation Officer at Suez Recycling and Recovery UK

Notably, the Collections and Transport Stage will be host to the “The Big 5 and the Future of Collections” panel, featuring:

  • Cathy Cook, Chair of LARAC
  • Brian Ashby, Head of Municipal Collections and Streetscene at FCC
    John Stephens, General Manager of Logistics at Grundon
  • John Wrigley, Managing Director of Municipal at Suez Recycling and Recovery UK
  • Steve Cole, Managing Director of Municipal at Biffa
  • Stuart Allen, Municipal Development Director at Veolia

The agenda is also set to include a panel on pEPR entitled “Packaging, Producers, and Policy: Navigating the pEPR Landscape”. This will feature:

  • Sam Jones, Head of Climate and Sustainability at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners
  • George Atkinson, Director of Policy at Valpak
  • Margaret Bates, Head of the UK pEPR Scheme Administrator at Defra
  • Patrick Brighty ,Head of Recycling Policy at the ESA
  • Phil Conran, Director of 360 Environmental Ltd

There will also be a session looking at “Design for a Circular Economy”, including:

  • Lauren Rabbitte, Associate Director of Effective Consumable Solutions
  • Marcus Gover, Director of the Plastics Initiative at the Minderoo Foundation
  • Mohammed Patel, Membership Manager at UKFT
  • Tim Walker, Chief Executive of arc21

Exclusive insights

The expo will also host exclusive insights from the likes of Charlotte Davies, Senior Consultant in Resource Efficiency and Circularity at Beyondly and Early Careers President at CIWM.

She will be speaking about navigating careers in the environmental and resource sector.

Jemilah Bailey, Policy and Programmes Manager for Waste and the Circular Economy at the Greater London Authority, will be discussing building a circular capital in London.

Another notable speaker is Senior Lecturer in Sedimentology Amanda Owen from the University of Glasgow who will be discussing research into industrial waste turning into rock.
