One of the first batches of vehicles to be equipped under the arrangement is exhibited on the Hyva stand at the IWM exhibition in Torbay.
Onyx surveyed a range of equipment using internal cost models to help make its decision to opt for Hyva who are now working with Onyx to monitor operational performance and examine ways to further reduce cots.
One current result of this approach is the development of a new installation design for the fitting of onboard weight equipment. This involves fitting cells to the front and rear skids, and udner the mid-chassis rollers, instead of between the chassis and the body. The on-board system is configured to calculate the weight accurately on a “straddle principle” if contact is not made at all of the cell locations.
