Duke of York visits recycling machinery firm Terex Pegson

As well as meeting senior management and the Terex Pegson production team, Prince Andrew was given a guided tour of the company's production facilities. As well as a demonstration of one of Terex Pegson's mobile crushers – the 1412 Trakpactor – Prince Andrew was even invited by fitter Simon Roberts to operate the machine, which can process 550 tonnes of material per hour.

The Duke of York was also shown around a new product that is just about to be launched on the UK market, the X400 crushing plant.

Staff
On his tour, His Royal Highness was introduced to six long-serving staff who have altogether dedicated 270 years' work to the firm. Philip Wragg, Michael Webster, Colin Peters, Ivan Roome, Peter Cooke and Terence Newman have all worked for the company for over 42 years.

Commenting on the visit, general manager Keith Tudor said: “We are proud and honoured to have received His Royal Highness and to have had the opportunity to show our production facilities and some of the crushing plants that we design and build for our international customer base.

“As a recipient of two Queen’s Awards for Industry and a major player in the worldwide quarrying, mining and recycling markets, we greatly value this recognition of our efforts. It was also a wonderful opportunity for us to honour the tremendous employment records of our six long-serving members of staff and the occasion will be remembered as a very special day for the whole company,” Mr Tudor added.
