Keenan Recycling appoints UK business manager
Scottish food waste treatment firm Keenan Recycling has appointed Luca Pornaro as UK business manager, charged with educating businesses with their obligations under the Waste (Scotland) Regulations.

His main role at the Aberdeenshire-based company will be to educate customers on the importance of food waste recycling, including areas where regulations to recycle food waste may not be compulsory.
In 2014, new food waste regulations for businesses in Scotland were introduced meaning those producing more than 50kg of food waste a week had to present it separately for collection it or face a fine. These regulations were tightened in January 2016, and now apply to businesses producing more than 5kg of food waste per week.
Mr Pornaro’s previous roles include Cyrenians Organics Waste Recycling (CORE) where he is claimed to have helped develop the first food waste collections in Scotland.
Mr Pornaro said: “I am delighted and honoured to be part of the growth of Keenan Recycling, and look forward to helping to grow the company across the UK.
“In my role I will work with companies to offer cost effective solutions for their food collections.”
The family-run recycling business is based in New Deer with an additional base in Linlithgow and deals with waste from across small to corporate businesses.
