The Fellowship aims to recognise exceptional contribution, leadership and commitment to the resources and waste sector.
To be eligible, applicants must either have been Chartered members of CIWM for at least seven years or have over 11 years’ experience in the sector, including five at a senior level.

The new Fellows are Carla Brian, Sam Riggs, Dimitra Rappou, David Holman, Triinu La Caille, Paul Kelly, Neil Duncan and Francois Jenny.

Carla Brian
Carla Brian, Head of Partnerships at Biffa, has played a key role in enhancing Biffa’s market position and driving sustainable growth.
She spearheaded the company’s partnerships strategy and contributed to its Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) Scotland bid.
Previously, Brian was Head of National and Indirect Accounts at Suez.
Sam Riggs
Sam Riggs is a Specialist Environmental and Regulatory Defence Barrister at 25 Bedford Row.
Recognised by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 as a leading junior, she has established a strong practice advising and defending clients in environmental, permitting and regulatory matters, including investigations and prosecutions.
Dimitra Rappou
Dimitra Rappou is the Executive Director for Sustainable Products at the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI).
Rappou has led two major revisions of the CPI’s Design for Recyclability Guidelines and developed Papercycle, a recyclability assessment tool for fibre-based packaging.
She also represents the paper sector on Defra’s Advisory Committee on Packaging.
David Holman
David Holman is National Landfill and Recycling Manager at Heidelberg Materials.
In the UK, Heidelberg Materials operates across aggregates, asphalt, cement and recycling, supporting the transition towards more sustainable infrastructure and resource efficiency across the construction sector.
Triinu La Caille
Triinu La Caille, Head of Sustainability and Compliance at Mitie Waste and Environmental, manages CSR, ESG, and circular economy initiatives, as well as regulatory compliance.
She serves on CIWM’s East Anglia regional council and contributes to national skills and training groups.
Her previous experience includes sustainability roles at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Paul Kelly
Paul Kelly, Technical Manager and Waste Characterisation Team Lead at AtkinsRéalis, has worked in both the engineering and nuclear sectors.
He has helped to advance waste characterisation and management practices.
Neil Duncan
Neil Duncan, Business Consultant at Albion Environmental, has more than 25 years’ experience in the waste industry.
He advises businesses on optimisation and succession planning, helping owners scale or exit successfully.
His previous roles include COO at Clearwater and Waste and Resources Manager at North Lanarkshire Council.
Francois Jenny
Francois Jenny, Asia Regional Director at Seureca, the Consulting Engineering and Strategic and Operational Assistance division of the Veolia Group, leads projects across the region for decarbonisation, depollution and circular economy solutions.
With previous roles at Veolia, Suez, and Covanta Energy, he also serves as a Trade Advisor for the French Government’s French Foreign Trade Advisors body.
