Andrew Swainston joins WR Fibers UK
The new role will see Mr Swainston lead the strategic direction of the plastics trading business, which is the sister company of Cycle Link UK and part of the Chinese packaging firm Shanying Group as it seeks to source a greater volume of plastic scrap from the UK market.
Commenting on the position, Mr Swainston, who left ECO Plastics last month having worked for the company for over three years, said: This is a very exciting time to be joining WR Fibers UK and I’m looking forward to making the business a leader in the plastics market.
By utilising the shared strength and resources across the Group, we aim to bring added value to our clients through multi-material sourcing opportunities.
Cycle Link UK sources 700,000 tonnes-a-year of recovered fibre for production into Kraft Liner and Testliner board.

Taylor announces new executive chairman
Steel bin manufacturer Taylor has announced that Richard Sanders has been appointed executive chairman of the company.
Mr Sanders was strategy director for the John Lewis Partnership and co-founder of Sullivan Street Partners, the investment firm that oversaw the acquisition of Taylor in 2010.
Mr Sanders has served as an active board member for Taylor since 2010, and has worked in the manufacturing sector the past 15 years.
Commenting on the appointment, he said: This is an exciting opportunity to get closer to the company and work alongside its first-class management and executive team as we deliver a series of new products and services over the coming months.
And, commenting on the departure of chief executive David Williams last month, Mr Sanders added: We will be appointing a new CEO however our priority has been to secure the right person for the role rather than working to a timeframe. We have ambitious plans for growth so its important that the new CEO will be able to share this vision as we embark on the next phase of Taylors development.
Bob Billington steps down from Geesinknorba
Bob Billington, current UK business director for refuse vehicle manufacturer Geesinknorba, has stepped down following a two-year tenure.
Mr Billington officially left the post on May 1 citing personal reasons for his decision. A successor is expected to be announced in due course.
He said: Ill be working on until later in June and will still be attending both the IFAT and PAWRS shows, but to ensure a smooth transition weve started passing many of my responsibilities on to my colleagues. Its been a pleasure working with Geesinknorba for the last two years and I wish the company and everyone here all the best in the future.
Meanwhile, Geesinkorba has announced that Mick Hill and Phil Bridge will be joining the firm from June as general manager after sales and service, and UK parts and field service manager respectively.
FPA ratifies new executive chairman
The Foodservice Packaging Association (FPA) has appointed Howard Colliver to the role of executive chairman with immediate effect.
Mr Colliver is a senior management consultant and has held numerous senior executive roles including managing director at Bunzl Vending, executive board member for Thames Valley Business Link, and former chairman of the Automatic Vending Association.
The role will allow Mr Colliver to develop FPAs growing political legislative voice, which is in the process of developing relations with government and environmental bodies.
At the FPA annual general meeting, the organisation also ratified the appointment of a number of new officers and thanked outgoing non-executive chairman Neil Whittall for his many efforts across a three-year tenure.
On his appointment, Mr Colliver said he was looking forward to facilitate future growth of FPA ibn both membership and profile.
