EmployerDevon County Council

Salary £24,012 - £27,041

Closing date 03 Jun 2021

As a top performing Waste Disposal Authority, this is your opportunity to come and help build on our success. In these challenging times we need to ensure that we continue to deliver value for money waste services whilst looking for innovative ways to improve both service delivery and efficiency. And this is where you come in.

You will provide assistance with the management and supervision of our portfolio of waste management contracts including financial performance and statistical analysis/data analysis, as well as managing daily operational issues.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the performance of the service. You will also assist the waste management team in our procurement activities, from assisting with the preparation of tender documents, to assisting with tender communications along with reviews, approvals and awards.  You will also manage the Waste website and the public complaints system, which will involve dealing directly with members of the public to resolve complaints and queries.

About you

You will have a degree (or equivalent) – ideally in a waste management related subject – but, more importantly, you will understand the waste management industry and be committed to our environmental activities. Enthusiastic and driven, you have a proven track record in project management.

You are open-minded and business focused, with an organised and analytical approach to your work – and you are used to maintaining superb attention to detail while working to tight deadlines. A great team player with excellent IT, spreadsheet/data analysis/data management and communication skills, you are the perfect person to support our objectives in this area.

In return, as well as a friendly work environment, we will give you support, learning opportunities and training to develop your skills as part of our career progression scheme.

The rewards

We will do everything we can to help you get the most from your career, while helping you to achieve a healthy work-life balance. And all in a beautiful part of the country.
