With a large workforce, a significant budget and responsibility for a number of income-generating services, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the council’s ambitions.
Copeland Borough Council is seeking an experienced Operational Waste Manager to lead the continuing development and delivery of our in-house waste collection and street cleaning services. You will also be lead on the enforcement of environmental nuisance, off street parking and markets.
We are looking for an energised and enthusiastic candidate to lead and focus the service through the challenges set by the Resources and Waste Strategy. Along with professionalism and passion, you will have proven budget and risk management experience, successful project delivery history, as well as excellent performance management skill.
The opportunity arises at the exciting time for our waste services. Substantial investment has been made in a new high profile kerbside recycling service. This has lead to an increase in recycling rates ad a national LARAC Award for the accompanying communications campaign. The successful candidate will be tasked with building on this momentum.
