The Commercial Manager role plays a crucial part in delivering an exceptional level of service to our customers which is reliable and 100% compliant.  The Commercial Manager will ensure the supplier base utilized is the best for every service we provide and delivers these services at a price which ensures we remain competitive.  Essentially a non-customer facing role, the Commercial Manager will provide the commercial side to all new business opportunities whether a formal tender situation or otherwise and will ensure the growth of the business is profitable.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent spoken and written communication
  • Experience presenting and negotiating
  • Excellent numerical and IT skills
  • Diligent and methodical approach to tasks
  • Experience procuring services
  • Experience managing a team effectively
  • Excellent business and commercial sense
  • Experience working with key stakeholders and decision makers internally and externally
  • Highly proficient at excel and data analysis techniques
  • Prior experience of using cloud-based CRM software
  • Demonstrable knowledge of duty of care legislation
  • Experience of carrying out waste audits

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supplier Selection and Performance Management
  • Monitor and manage performance through performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Address performance, pricing and improvements of supplier base
  • Negotiate prices and rebates
  • Resolution of any issues with billing
  • Compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance for all waste services delivered by the business
  • Ensure supplier compliance with all national legislation
  • Develop and maintain an audit schedule of waste facilities to assist decision making
  • Maintain the business compliance paperwork log of all suppliers on the online portal
  • New Business Responsibilities
  • Deliver upon new service opportunities from existing customers
  • Be the lead on tender submissions
