Search Tips

We have ensured that the search facility on letsrecycle.com is as simple to use as possible - in most cases entering the word or words you are looking for will be enough - you may also enter a specific phrase by "enclosing it in quotes".

If you find you are not receiving the results you are expecting please read the following.

Boolean searches.
Custom Boolean expression. This allows you to create a search string using and, or and not.

  • AND (AND). This means that all of the search words must be in a document for it to be retrieved.
  • ANY (OR). This means that at least one of the search words must be in a document for it to be retrieved.
  • NOT (NOT). This will search for all a page that includes the words you've entered into a search box except the word that follows the operator NOT.

The default Match option requires Matches on all words (AND).

Format.
Specifies the amount of information displayed for each matching document on the results page.

  • Long. The long format includes the document title, relative ranking, URL, revision date, file size, and KWIC (keyword in context, if within the first 50 KB of the document).
  • Short. The short format includes only the document title and relative rank.

The default Display Format option is Long format.
