Transfrontier Shipment of Hazardous Waste Regulations (1988) - implements Council Directive No. 84/631/EEC, on the supervision and control within the European Community of the transfrontier shipment of hazardous waste.

Collection and Disposal of Waste Regulations (1998) - defines three sorts of controlled waste: household, industrial and commercial waste, and regulations surrounding them.

Environmental Protection Act (1990) - pollution control and air pollution control by local authorities, plus wide-ranging waste regulations.

Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations (1991) - imposes a duty of care on any person who imports, produces, carries, keeps, treats or disposes of controlled waste or, as a broker, has control of such waste.

Controlled Waste (Registration of Carriers and Seizure of Vehicles) Regulations (1991) - makes it a criminal offence for a person who is not a registered carrier to transport controlled waste to or from any place in Great Britain.

Controlled Waste Regulations (1992) - clarifies some definitions of waste, further to the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Transfrontier Shipment of Waste Regulations (1994) - regulations on the supervision and control of shipments of waste within, into and out of the European Community.

Waste Management Licensing Regulations (1994) - brings into force the waste management licensing system from the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and implements certain EC Directives relating to waste.

Environment Act (1995) - gave birth to the Environment Agency and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. Plus: regulations on contaminated land, producer responsibility, air quality.

Landfill Tax (Qualifying Material) Order (1996) - regulations on inert materials going to landfill.

Landfill Tax (Contaminated Land) Order (1997) - provides for an additional exemption from the new landfill tax in respect of disposals of waste material that has resulted from certain land reclamations.

Special Waste Regulations (1997) - implements Council Directive 91/689/EEC on hazardous waste, provides a new definition of special waste and make provision for handling such waste.

Landfill Tax Regulations (1997) - make provision for the administration and assurance of landfill tax.

Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations (1997) - impose on producers obligations to recover and recycle packaging waste, and related obligations, in order to attain the targets in EC Directive 94/62/EC.

Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order (1997) - pollution control and hazardous wastes.

Pollution Prevention and Control Act (1999) - provides for a new pollution control system to meet the requirements of European Council Directive 96/61/EC on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control.

Landfill Tax (Site Restoration and Quarries) Order (1999) - provides two additional exemptions from landfill tax - material used to restore landfill sites and to fill existing or former quarries.

Waste Management Licences (Consultation and Compensation) Regulations (1999) - gives power to the Environment Agency and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency to impose waste management licence conditions.

Pollution Prevention and Control (England and Wales) Regulations (2000) - set out, for England and Wales, a pollution control regime for the purpose of implementing the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive.

Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations (2000) - set out, for Scotland, a pollution control regime for the purpose of implementing the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive.
