The following table contains municipal waste data released by the Audit Commission in December 2003 for the period covering the financial year 2002-03.

As well as recycling, composting and the combined recycling and composting statistics, energy-from-waste recovery (EfW) rates and landfill rates are given for waste disposal authorities and unitary councils.

Councils are listed in rank order of combined recycling and composting rates:
